70 Years Old Treasure from Coronado Island

70 Years Old Treasure from Coronado Island

A few month ago a person walked in our shop, searching for a craftsmen who can upcycle reclaimed wood from his old tor-down house, and use it to build custom furniture pieces for his new house.

The wood was all rough and grey, originally everybody thought that this is redwood, the grain was so compressed. After Old Fashioned Lumber team inspected the lumber we find out that it is an old growth Douglas Fir, approximately 70 years old.

Stunning grain and density, we were impressed how wood stayed in pristine condition, of course not without nail holes.
